All guests will continue to take pleasure in the same resort amenities enjoyed by the original Southernmost on the Beach, including the junior size olympic swimming pool, Private Pier stretching over the Atlantic, the beachfront open-air Southernmost Beach Café and a real sand beach with chaise lounges for relaxing. Additional inclusive amenities are: parking, wi-fi, access to 2 additional swimming pools and Tiki Bar, concierge, on-site bicycle and moped rentals and a walk-everywhere location in historic old town.

About the rooms

The new 80 guestrooms feature dark mahogany furniture, the tranquility of blue and white decor, and ocean views that suggest a private yacht. Whether you decide on a restful ocean view, an oceanfront room, or one of three custom-designed Penthouse Suites, each one artfully combines a tropical modern motif with a nautical feel to make you feel right at home. With breathtaking views of the sea and sky, you’ll find that getting into the Key West state of mind is easier than you thought.

About the landscaping

Part of the all-new look at Southernmost on the Beach has to do with the beautiful lush landscaping. There are no more partial ocean view guest rooms available because parking is no longer available in front of the rooms. All 123 rooms have views of the Atlantic Ocean and the grounds are decorated with beautiful lush gardens and palm trees.


Over a year and a half ago, the Southernmost Hotel Collection owners took it upon themselves to hire a landscaping firm to save over 100 large palms and trees which were slated for demolition along with Atlantic Shores.

• 40 coconut palms of various varieties, ranging in sizes from 20ft. to 40ft. plus,
• Over 20 Adonidia Merrillii (Christmas Palm) ranging in size from 10ft. to 20 ft. plus,
• Over 20 Dypsis Lutescens (Areca Palm, also known as a Butterfly Palm),
• 4 large Gumbo Limbo Trees.
• Many various other plants, some native and some exotic such as Seagrape, Cardboard Palm, Seedling Sabal Palms,
• Bougainvillea, Philodendron and more.
• Alladin Landscaping was hired to root prune, treat, remove, transport, and house all of the above in one of their locations in Homestead, Florida.

Today the “Spirit of the Shores” lives on in the lush tropical gardens at Southernmost on the Beach.

New state-of-the art Southernmost Fitness Center opens in January 2009. Some of the new programs we will be offering include:
